FAQ
How do you say “Myrtille”?
Section titled “How do you say “Myrtille”?”“meer-TEE”. Myrtille is French for blueberry, which is why the mascot is one.
Is Myrtille related to cedrozor/myrtille?
Section titled “Is Myrtille related to cedrozor/myrtille?”No. cedrozor/myrtille is an unrelated project with the same name: a web gateway for remote desktops (RDP). This Myrtille is a control tower for your infrastructure and your coding agents, at github.com/myrtillehq/myrtille.
Does Myrtille send telemetry?
Section titled “Does Myrtille send telemetry?”Only if you say yes. The setup shows the exact document that would be sent, once a day and anonymous, before you choose. Nothing is sent before a yes, you can change your mind at any time, and MYRTILLE_TELEMETRY=off turns it off whatever the answer. Telemetry lists every field.
Does it touch my repositories or my code?
Section titled “Does it touch my repositories or my code?”Never. Myrtille reads the APIs and webhooks of your tools, and Claude Code reports to it through hooks in your user settings (~/.claude/settings.json), written only after you saw the change and said yes, never in a project. It ships no SDK to import and writes no file into your repositories. Removing Myrtille is removing its configuration. See Security.
Why are some citizens grey?
Section titled “Why are some citizens grey?”Grey means the town does not know, and says so. A citizen is offline when its source stopped reporting it or the town hall lost contact with that source, and unknown when it gave no news for longer than expected. Both show the time of the last news. The town never shows something as fine when it does not know.
Can Myrtille change something in production on its own?
Section titled “Can Myrtille change something in production on its own?”No. Actions are off in every district until an admin turns them on, district by district. A webhook never triggers an action, and every action is checked against the role of the person, confirmed when it is destructive, and written to the audit log. See First steps.
Is self-hosting really free?
Section titled “Is self-hosting really free?”Yes, with every feature, for any number of users and towns, under the Apache 2.0 licence. The cloud sells hosting and connectivity, never features. Cloud features, self-hosted shows how to run each part yourself.
What happens to Claude Code when the town hall is down?
Section titled “What happens to Claude Code when the town hall is down?”Claude Code goes on as if Myrtille were not there: its permission prompts appear on the workstation, and the events wait on the workstation until the town hall is back. Myrtille is never the only barrier. See Claude Code.
Does a mission use my Claude account?
Section titled “Does a mission use my Claude account?”A mission runs the claude you installed and signed in to, on your own Claude plan, under the terms of Anthropic and the usage limits of that plan. Myrtille never reads, stores or forwards a Claude credential.
